GOVERNANCE
Though PLATO is a program of UCLA Extension, and reports to the Dean, the Society is self-governed.
Contribution of time and energy to the democratic functioning of the Society is an important aspect of membership.
An Executive Council is elected annually to oversee all PLATO affairs. Four Standing Committees are responsible for the major activities: Curriculum, Coordinator, Membership and Colloquium. Chairs of those committees are appointed.
PLATO members volunteer to join these Standing Committees or a number of other Service Committees which conduct the many other activities of the Society.
